So many questions, so little time. As a non-profit agency the Humane Society of Richland County is often asked these same questions. So we present them here as a quick reference. As more questions are asked we will continue to update this area.


Q: Are you a registered non-profit organization?
A: Yes, we are a fully registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
     A copy of of our 501(c)3 status is available upon request.


Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: Yes, your donation is tax deductible. If you have concerns or      questions, you may Contact Us for more information prior to
     making your donation.


Q: Can I donate to the Humane Society in my will?
A: Yes, we are extremely touched when people remember the animals      of the world and our organization in particular. Arrangements can      be made for the future in advance by speaking to your attorney.


Q: Are there other ways to help besides money?
A: Yes, we always looking for bulk/extra items, foster homes, and      volunteers to help at fundraiser's and shelters. Click Here to visit      our downloadable forms page for related documents.


Q: Do you round up stray dogs?
A: No, the Humane Society can only accept dogs that are surrendered      by their owners. In Richland County, the Dog Warden is      responsible for the collection of stray dogs.
