Our New Shelter Is Officially Open For Business.
We want to take the time to thank everyone who has helped make this new day and new shelter possible.

 Miles was abandoned in a trailer by his owner who moved
to Florida and left him alone in the middle of winter.
The call came in during a snowstorm that almost shut down the city in 2006. Our Humane Agents could not make it to Miles in the Humane Society van, so they drove one of their personal vehicles, a 4X4 truck, in order to get him back to the shelter.
His owner had left the stove open and on to keep the trailer warm. Miles could have been dead very easily if the trailer had caught on fire.
After almost a year Miles was adopted as a companion for a single man looking for a best friend leaving his story another Happy Tail!
