 05.30.2009 New Shelter Facility Open House
Our new facility is set to open on June 1, 2009. We invite everyone to join us at our open house on Saturday May 30, 2009. We will be open to the public from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and will have special gift for the kids and a tour of our new facility.
If you can't make then please feel free to visit our new facility when it opens on Monday June 1, 2009. You make just find a new best friend.
11.12.2008 - 2008 Pet Gift Bags Now On Sale Thru December 15, 2008.
The Humane Society of Richland County is happy to announce our 2008 Pet Gift Bags are on sale. These festive gift bags are now on sale thru Dec 15, 2008.
If you live within the Richland County area your gift bag will be delivered to your home with no extra charge by December 22, 2008.
This years gift bag will feature a variety of toys, treats, food, collars, and much more. If you have questions you can e-mail us at:

11.12.2008 - MANCI TLC Cell Dog Program Information Page Added.
We are very excited to report that several weeks ago we were invited to participate in the MANCI TLC Cell Dog Program. After talking with the supervisor of the program, Kurt Dahlby, we were convinced this would be a wonderful opportunity for their facility, our facility, and the dogs.
In the MANCI TLC Cell Dog Program the dogs learn basic obedience commands such as heel, sit, down, stay and come. If a certain dog learns more quickly than the others he or she may go on to learn some basic agility as well.

10.15.2008 - Parking Lot Party At Mansfield's StarTek Call Center
The Humane Society of Richland County in conjunction with StarTek of Mansfield is happy to present a special fundraising event with food, fun, and games for the whole family to enjoy.
On Saturday October 18th, 2008 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. (rain or shine) StarTek is donating the use of their parking lot and helping to host a Parking Lot Party to benefit the Humane Society of Richland County.
Among the events planned will be a bake sale, prize raffles, a canine costume contest, adoptable animals, food, fun, friends, and a whole lot more.
The Mansfield StarTek call center is located at 860 West 4th Street in Mansfield.
So make plans to join us Saturday October 18th, 2008 for this great Parking Lot Party.

10.15.2008 - 2008 Strut Your Mutt Photo Gallery Posted
The 2008 Strut Your Mutt fundraiser for the Humane Society of Richland County was held on October 11, 2008 and was by all measureas a great success.
From all of us at the Humane Society of Richland County we would like to send out a big thank you to all the volunteers, vendors, and attendees who came out to support us and the animals of Richland County at this years Strut Your Mutt fundraiser and canine carnival.
Also, we would like to thank the Richland County Fairgrounds group for the use of their space and facilities for this years Strut Your Mutt fundraiser. Thanks to their help, (and on such short notice), we were still able to have this years fundraising event after we had to postpone our original date(s) due to bad weather. So, again thank you to everyone at the fair board and the fairgrounds committees.

08.26.2008 - 2008 Dog Days Of Summer Photo Gallery Posted
The 2008 YMCA Dog Days Of Summer Event was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2008.
Our thank you's go out to the staff and facility of the Mansfield Area YMCA for hosting the event which benefited the Humane Society of Richland County. There were literally dozens of dogs and families at the event having a fun time and making it a great success for both the YMCA and for the Humane Society of Richland County.

08.15.2008 - 2008 Dog Days of Summer Event at the YMCA.
The Mansfield YMCA invites your furry friend out for a swim. Prior to their annual draining and cleaning of the main pool, the YMCA offers, for one day only, an opportunity where you can bring your dog(s) in for a swim. So, on August 25, 2008 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. join us and take your best friend out for a swiml. The cost for the event is $5 per dog and all proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Richland County.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year. The 2008 Strut Your Mutt will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. The event takes place at the Lexington Community Park in Lexington, Ohio. The rain date (if needed) is the following day on

08.06.2008 - Lexington Blueberry Festival Event Posted
The 2008 Lexington Red, White, and Blueberry Festival will be held in the Lexington Community Park from Wednesday, August 13, 2008 - Sunday, August 18, 2008. The Humane Society of Richland County will once again be participating in the festival as well as selling food out of our Dog Trailer. So be sure to come out and join us for a a large family fun festival with tons of Rides, Games, Concerts, Car Shows, and much more.

As part of the 2008 Mansfield Bicentennial the Humane Society of Richland County was invited to hold a Pet Parade & Pet Pageant. The event was held downtown on the square. 8.01.2008 - New Facility Construction Blog
The Humane Society of Richland Count is preparing for our New Facility set to open in Winter 2008. This is an exciting time as this is the first facility that we will have that can truly serve the needs of the animals and residents of Richland County. You can follow our progress of the facility by reading our new Construction blog. We currently, (as of August 1, 2008), have added several photos of the land and our thoughts as we begin construction.
